Start--->Program---> Acessories---> System Tools--->Defrag and nothing comes up. ?? Where has my defrag program gone? ----> Could you advise? Would you help?

I know that Windows 95 came with some sort of thing built in that could be used through telnet. Does Vista have anything like that?

Every once in a while the explorer process takes up a HUGE chunck of CPU usage, about 50-80% and my computer is virtually unoperatable. Most of the programs will freeze up including the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. How do i fix this? Is this a virus? Why didn't Threatfire or Norton Antivirus see this?

it will not read when I boot from cd. It worked before I saved the files to my laptop. Am I burning it wrong on to the cd??? Can I download an xp install??? Please help, vista sucks. I already have a clean formated partition.

Even with Time Machine disabled, after installing Leopard my external hard drive "needed repair" but when you try to repair using disk utility it says the drive "can't be repaired".

All my digital music (for iTunes), backup, projects, work, etc is on the external drive!

Also, verify disk permissions no longer works on any drive.

According to the wording of the Leopard license the software is "provided as is with all faults and without warranty of any kind".

Sure enough, after two hours on the phone with Apple support, they will do nothing to fix the problems.

Save your money, avoid all the faults- Don't buy Leopard until they fix the bugs!

Ok.. so I am trying to type my address out and print it on an envelope but everytime I try doing that on MW, there is so much space on the top. How do I get the letters all the way on the top of the paper?

As my PC boots up, very slowly, I get two warning boxes;
1) SDTrayApp.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x100061FS" referenced memory at "0x0000003c" the memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate program.

and

2) Norton Protection Center - symantec
Class not registered ( 0x80040154 )

When using my PC it freezes and the only way I can turn it off is to unplug it. Can any one please help me, I have no idea what these warnings are? Many thanks.

I have dvd clone but it don't shrink some of the longer films to put them onto a smaller disc. If a film is over two hours long they will not go onto a disc.
I have also tried dvd shrink but this also does not shrink all films.
Is there a programme out there that i can download free to do what i want it to do on the longer films..

this is for a project, not commercial.

I was looking around I now on the mail tab, I've lost the column that also displayed my Schedule. ( This was the default) I still can see the 'To-Do' bar on the right but the small version of the calendar has disappeared and nothing in Views seems to help. That only changes info displayed in the email Could anyone help me get my old view back? Thanks.

If not, have you seen a projected date?

I got a new Dell with Vista back in April and then reverted to XP about a month later. But if there is a service pack available, I'm curious to try Vista again.

Ive been using my daughters Comp whilst she`s on holiday. She has Windows XP Home. My problem is when I shut the Comp down I logged her off Windows instead. ( Im sure thats what I did) and it now comes up with her user name but a password is required that she cant remember. If theres any help available out there please let me know, otherwise Im a dead man

Windows xp on my computer got a virus and it messed things up. I got rid of the virus but then windows didn't work very well. It let me log on and stuff but things like internet explorer did not work. So I tried to do a repair reinstall of windows. I used a friends disk and the key with that is on the sticker on my computer. Installation was going fine, then it asked me for the key, I input the key and it is not working. What do I do?

I need to know what web application is the most popular and easy to use on a Mac. Also, if one doesn't run on Mac (like ASP.NET) is there a way that it can that will be successful?

I'm just trying to find out what most people do to create dynamic web pages on their Mac. (Web application software, web page editor (dreamweaver?))

Just got a different office PC and it has Office 2007 Pro installed. The user interface and screen layout bites the big one. In Office XP, I had all my toolbars customized and laid out so the would work for me. There does not appear to be a way to lay out the bars the way I had them before and also use the small icons. The new layout take up a lot of valuable screen area and have to jump back and forth between menu option to get items I want instead of allowing me to create my own custom toolbars. The cell lines in Excel are almost invisible. There are no drop down menues for such items as File, Tools, or even Help. I think I would rather have my old PC back then to work with this ill-conceived version of office.

I have downloaded open office org as suggested but still cannot open word or excel doc's, any ideas please.

I can save doc's AS different files in open office and my friends can open attachments now, so one half of problem is okay. As they could not open works doc's. Arghhhhhhhhh

I am quite technical minded, not a complete novice.
