I recently trying to play a movie on my computer and When i told my media player to play the movie it failed to recognise i had my anything in the drive.

I tried to use my VLC media player and my DIVX player. I have been using the VLC media player for a while (and it has never given me a problem), but i just recently downloaded the free version of the DIVX player.The VLC media player tells me Unable to open 'dvd://E:'

I have tried different movies and cds to see if any of them work, but no luck. And occasionally the dvd starts to play but freezes up.

I have been trying to download the software for my blutooth dongle onto my computer from the software disc and the setup process gets to a stage where is says access is denied and cannot setup. Why is this happening?

I've got a video, it's only a couple of minutes long, with no graphics or music, yet somehow it's 145MB, I need to shrink it to less than 100MB but don't want to lose any of the video or sound quality.

Any help will be gratefully received.

I have a new Dell with Vista pre-installalled with all of the standard junk Dell includes (AOL, etc.). I could just remove everything I don't want, but is it worth it to wipe it all out, and start fresh by reinstalling from the Vista image disc?

I'm trying to access cmd and regedit through run, however when trying to open these I get the prompt: "Another program is currently using this file", (I have tried opening this after start up, and after a few minutes of turning on my PC) any ideas why access to theses areas have been restricted? I am the administrator for this PC so how can I stop processes to these files. Could this be a virus stopping me from access?

When I start up my computer and log onto Windows, I get the following error: "Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services Encountered a Problem and needs to close"
I have windows XP SP 2, up to date virus protection, etc. This one seems particularly problematic as sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. If I keep rebooting the computer I may get a clean session. VERY annoying - I keep sending Microsoft the error message

I was facing problems in running programs..i think comoputer was infected by a Virus,so i tried removing it but in the process somehow the DESKTOP got rotated to 90 degrees. Now the programs are working and i think i have removed the virus.Please help.

I have a set of data name address and phone..... that I imported into Excel using OCR software from a printed list and the best I could get the information into excel was all in one cell so the cell reads (Jane Smith ####### 1234 main street ##### 444/555-9876 ## Your Town, US 55889 ### Fax 555/784-9999 ## jsmith@smith.com) # = spaces. I have been able to break out the name and the phone and fax using Formulas like FIND, LEFT, MID But I am not sure how I extract the address and the email because there is not pattern. The data wizard is not working either because the spaces are not consistant between the informatin in all cells. Any suggestions ?
