Our entire accounting department might be doomed! What do I do? What do I do? My fiancee doesn't like this (since she's a department head herself)! And my future father-in-law (our boss) hates it too!

Hey Office Guy87,

Hmmm... if you had Windows PCs, you'd contact a service technician, wouldn't you? You'd also have a huge group of IT people scratching their heads about it too.

Why not go to the yellow pages and find a Mac person to have a look at your Macs? It sounds like a "No Brainer" to me. You could probably get somebody from the dealership that you bought the Macs from to come in and look at them.

Most Macs work trouble-free and there's no viruses for Mac OS X, so it's probably something very simple. Have the Macintosh technician check them out. Best of luck to you.

That's a Mac for you... all or nothin'. But they usually don't have problems like this on a large scale. How old are the Macs? What model are they? Do you update them often? I'm not sure if there's a way to revert back to the last good configuration or a way to start in a "safe" mode on a Mac like there is on a PC. When do the Macs freeze? (when it boots? when the OS is loading? when you try to open a program?) I'm not really sure what to tell you other than good luck.

Not to be a pessimist, but you might end up reformatting most of them...

You know, the sure-fire way to get a good answer is to be descriptive. Your question here is quite comparable to "Oh my God, I've got blood on my hands... what do I do? what do I do???" Yeah, that's helpful.

First, let's see... what is it that you do that cause the crash? And of course, what exactly do you mean here by freezing v. crashing? And then, there's the question what's going at the time of the freeze/crash? What apps are running, and what systems are you guys on? G4? G5? Intel? What OS? Tiger? Panther?

So, yeah, come back when you have a helpful question. Help us help you, yeah?
