When I start up my computer and log onto Windows, I get the following error: "Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services Encountered a Problem and needs to close"
I have windows XP SP 2, up to date virus protection, etc. This one seems particularly problematic as sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. If I keep rebooting the computer I may get a clean session. VERY annoying - I keep sending Microsoft the error message

First, does this happen when booting in Safe Mode? - tap the F8 key from a restart.

If not, go into msconfig and uncheck all your startups - do this not connected to the net - pull the plug on the modem, and bootup.

Start > run > type msconfig > ok > startup tab.
