Software - February 2007

I am currently using a NON Genuine Copy of Windows XP Pro SP2. Around 5 years ago, I bought a genuine copy of Windows XP (Windows XP Home Edition SP1) and I still have the CD. Is there a way to use this CD to make my current copy genuine without have to format and re-install Windows?

i uninstalled mcafee but it's still showing up w/a firewall running and i'm sure other components also. how do i COMPLETELY remove this??? thanks

when ever i open a program like microsoft word or go to the search program in the computer a message appears on the screen saying installing windows 2000 premium and then it says insert windows 2000 disc i have to press cancel bout 4 times before it stops. can any1 tell me how to stop this..?

Hi, I want some kind of Operating System like DOS (preferably non-graphical) that can load a browser like Firefox (including graphics). I don't need any other program installed. The reason I want this is because I want to be able to turn on my computer and just check my mail without having a long list of unnecessary programs starting in the background.

Some people I asked suggested I try one of the Linux Distros; well, I've already tried a lot of them (Xubuntu, DSL, VectorLinux, etc) and they load even slower than my Windows XP.

Bear in mind that I only want this as an additional OS to be installed in another partition of my hard drive. By the way, I have a Pentium 4 with 512 ram and a 30gb disk.

I have a month of data in an Excel spreadsheet. The date and time are in the same column. It's like 2007-01-15 12:05. I want to count the number of records for each day. I did it by hand and it took me a couple of hours. Next month, I want to take a short cut like using the autofilter or the count formula. I tried the autofilter and it works fine for some days and not other days. I told the autofilter to show everything that contains *01-15* and it didn't show anything that happened on the fifteenth of January. When I used the autofilter to show everything that contains *01-31* it showed everything on January 31st just fine. What could be going wrong? What should I do?

i'm very confuse because outer loop (while) repeates one digit for th given no in inner loop while inner loop repeated all digit by the times given in outer loop suppose i give condition in outer to run no 1-3 and in inner 12 then the result will be

Tried those online forums, useless, always to busy. I think my problem is simple, it's just that I'm to dumb to figure it out.

Some how I have changed the way the page is viewed when starting a document, or when I open an old document.

There is a character that looks like a backward "P" with two legs, and bunches of right hand pointing arrows on the page.

Can anyone tell me how to change this setting so these do not show on the page view?,
