i uninstalled mcafee but it's still showing up w/a firewall running and i'm sure other components also. how do i COMPLETELY remove this??? thanks

Vista has its own firewall that you can not install. If you want to remove the firewall then go to your security section inside of windows vista and disable it. Now you can call mcafee for help on how to un-install their product or go to their website and search for instructions.

You don't want to run two firewalls, but you definitely want one.
My personal opinion is to run the firewall from Windows as it is the first thing to load.
You will have to click on McAfee's help button or go to McAfee's web site to find out how to disable theirs.
