I upgraded to vista business, and it said after installation that my old files from the previous OS would be in a files called Old Files. However, I cannot find this file. Does anyone know where it is located?

"this driver cannot be installed with the operating system of your computer"
that's the message that opens up each time I try to install DVD driver for a pansconic camcorder- I try a different method, but then it just says
"a setup error has occured"
"error type: cannot get drive"
"error code: 071"

help Please???

The favorites folder where Bookmarks are saved by IE is located in Documents and Settings. It is easy to copy to a different location. Where is the folder where Firefox saves Bookmarks? And does Firefox save Bookmarks in the same format? Can they be easily re-imported by Firefox?

I got a free upgrade to Vista when I bought my laptop. I was just about to install it, but now I'm having second thoughts. The upgrade is for the Basic Version. I've read, all over, that many people are having problems with Vista because it uses up too much memory with all the graphics and/or there is not enough compatible software. I saw this video on download.com yesterday...

I already downloaded the sidebar thing and it looks great and is very helpful. I also put the alt tab thing on, which also helps a lot. Now, I'm thinking of converting everything (the last thing they talk about on the video). Does this look like it's risky an would it be worth the risk? It does look pretty cool. Do you have any suggestions if I do try it? I was thinking maybe backing everything up and creating a restore point? I think this would be a good alternative, for me at least, until Vista gets all the bugs out and is capable of running more software

Anybody familiar with it? I can dual boot, either into XP Home on C:, or XPVista UWI on F: On Vista UWI, I cant get any audio at all, and my video capture device doesnt work, but on XP Pro, it all works fine. Iinstalled the proper drivers and everything. When I go into the volume and sound properties, it shows as no audio device. And my webcam software works untill I select capture, and it says cant connect to video capture device, or something like that. It also said something about VFW driver not found. I dont think I need drivers that are for Vista, cause it is still a version of XP, as far as I know...any ideas??

I am trying to play a DVD using Windows Media (I think it's Windows Media 11). As the DVD is running, I attempted to change the Play Speed. I was able to slow the speed of the visuals, but there is no sound unless I play the DVD at normal speed. I'm trying to take notes and I need BOTH the visual and audio to go slower...HELP!!

I opened up my Firefox browser to find all my bookmarks are no longer there. I am completely at loss and confused, i really need them back. I have the latest version (2.0), whats the problem? i tried disabling all extensions and add ons, to see if anything of that nature was having a conflict with the browser, and still nothing. 1st helpful answer gets points

I have a HP Pavilion dv8000 lap top, it's only a few months old, but the Norton Anti Virus Software it came installed with has expired. I get a message stating 1 item is affecting my computer. IfI click on FIX now, it says my subscription has expired and for me to renew it I have to purchase or download and there is a charge. Does anyone know where I can Download this for Free?

I had the program but i changed computers and this one doesn't have it. It is suppossed to join a series of files .r01, r02, r03 through r.07. They are video files if that helps.
I would really appreciate it if you could provide the name and the addresss to download such program.
