hello all
I have windows xp pro sp2 installed, p4 ram 256mb hd 80gb, from some time pc was slow,i thought to do repair installation,but when i did that the system was very very slow take 7minutes to boot
very thing is slow when ever i open any program cpu usage goes to 100%,i have run spybot, adware se every thing is fine AV is AVG updated daily, but one thing after the repair installation the new file or folder came to my desktop 01012905it is a cabinet file it has two files in it ms word 01012905 other is content file please if some one can help what to do these files,also checked thru msconfig cleared all startup files one by one and some times lcd monitor goes black but the monitor light is at full glow and then i had to press restart button all the mess cant find what the hell is wrong please help

What do you suggest is the best option to keep besides the default by Microsoft of 10% in the recycle bin for all the disk. If it is less that the amount specified, what is your rationale behind this?

Hello - does anyone know how I can insert a description of something which appears when you move the mouse pointer over part of a document - specifically a picture or diagram - not visible and doesn't print but appears on the screen when you put the mouse pointer on it (like a screen tip I suppose) - I am really stuck and would appreciate any help - I have tried MS Knowledge - but I don't even know the correct terminology for what it is I'm trying to do.

I'm looking for a program that I can add a folder with sub folders to and convert them from wma to mp3 and save the folder structure. I've been backing my cd's up as wma for years and want to convert them to mp3's. I have about 100gigs of wma's to convert. A free program is preffered but not required. thanks

i have avg 7.5 free edition but the thing is that many people think different some say the don't like it some do some say the like avast some don't some like kaprasky and some don't which one is right? can some one tell me which one they recommend and why whats so better the one you choose than the others.also do you think avg 7.5 protects me well ?

im wondering if anyone knows how to turn off or bypass the automatic date changer. for example: when i put "4-7" in one of the cells, it changes it to "7-Apr"...and thats definately not what i wanted. so instead i used "4 - 7" and it worked. BUT on the next cell i put in "8 - 11" and it still changed it to "8-Aug" can anyone help me? this is driving me crazy!

I have to print some notes for class from a powerpoint that is online. I dont have powerpoint itself (i cant make powerpoints) but i can view the powerpoint i am supposed to print. the problem is that I dont want to print 15 pages. is there anyway i can print it so that its smaller, i dont know if i can explain it, but on like 2 pages where all the slides show smaller and have note lines on the side. please help, I dont know how.

Sometimes when I am on certain websites and I click on a link, it asks if I want to open that particular pdf file and I click yes. Then, it says it is downloading that file. But, after it finishes downloading, it doesn't do anything else and I can't see that file. Does anyone know what I should do?

I am trying copy and paste pictures that have been cropped (using photoshop) into a Word Document. When I want to move I picture, I use the picture toolbar and try to use the tool to move pics, but it won't let me and shows a message which says I have insufficient RAM memory, and should try saving to a different drive.

I need help in simple 7th grade vocabulary for someone who knows a bit about computers but is TOTALLY LOST!!!!! thanks!!!

i use microsoft powerpoint 2003 and i made a slideshow of my photos and i want to add music to the whole slideshow. I know how to add music but it will only play it for one of my slide not all of the slides.
