I download a program that resulted in being an Adobe pdf file it reads template. It is actually a cover letter Template and II would like to use this file to type a cover letter but it wont let me. How do I make a file with the template so I can type a coverletter with my logo on it.?

If you are using Adobe Reader, that is what it is a reader. You need Adobe Acrobat to edit pdf's.

A pdf file can be opened a couple of different ways.
First one is of course to use Acrobat to open the file and make your changes.
The second one is to open the file in Illustrator (if the permissions are set) and make the changes.

Either way requires speciallized software available from Adobe. Get yourself the trial version of Acrobat and open up the file. If you plan on using the letter often; I suggest you save it out as a word document or something else you can use.
