Software - January 2007

My lap top will not boot into windows 98. It boots to dos allowing me to choose from norm., safe. prompt ect.... commands. how can i get win to start ? Please keep in mind that i can only use dos to enter a command in doing so. Ty and hope i get an answer that get my ol lap top running again.

Hello, inside nero burning program, when you burn a dvd you can choose the option of letting it verify the data on the disk after finished burning.

Is that function reliable ? or i should manually go thru the dvd to make sure?

Does anyone know of any good programs to create picture DVD/CDroms? I have Windows Memory disc, but it has NO features whatsoever. I also have windows Movie maker, but it won;t play on a DVD. I checked Downloa.com, everything seems to be strictly for organizing and viewing. ANY SUGGESTIONS!??!!?!

I have noticed that when I do a scan of either a virus or spyware scan and it show the folders/files it is searching i see programs/files that I once used a long time ago and deleted but still seem to show up. I did a search through all my folders (and hidden folders) but nothing ever comes up. can someone please tell me what i might be able to do or where to look for these files that are still on my hard drive. thanks.

I need it for an online class and my laptop didn't come with it. I found Excel 2007 that has a free trial but I need to use it until May. I don't mind paying. Worst thing is it has to be Excel, I can't use any other program. Thanks

I have a lot of REAL MEDIA files (.rm) stored in my computer, and I want to split/cut the videos into several smaller parts so it's easier to upload them online. I can't find any free softwares that will allow me to edit realmedia files completely, and a lot of the video editing softwares don't accept .rm files. Although some do offer free trials, they only do like 20 or 50% conversion of each file. Does anyone have ideas on how I can work and edit .rm files? I tried converting into mpg formats and stuff, takes toooooooo long, and slows down computer during converting process.

My O.S. is Windows XP, service pack two. I need to manually extract several objects such as: "software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\ext\stats\{15757333-2bca-4b77-a807-d0955132f812}\iexplore\time". I go on youtube.com and when i click on a video it says Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. but the problem is i downloaded the new vierson ofof Macromedia's Flash Player, and it still not working , so now i think it's the javascript, but i do not know how to turn it on of off. so if anyone knows, plez write back.

I want to erase everything from my computer so it can be like when I first got it. I have this program that no matter what I do it doesn't want to erase. If I try to remove it my computer freezes. I have tried different ways of trying to erase it (ways that I found on the internet). It has got to the point that I just want to restart everything. So does anybody have any idea how to erase it or if not how can I restart everything. If this might help I want to erase a program called bs player because when I download it another program came with it call When U Save. And When U Save is just a program that every minute pops ads of products that you can find in certain websites. So after having 6 windows poping up in my screen in 5 minitues it gets really annoying after a while. Please help me?
