everytime i start my compaq computer it goes 2 the windows start up screen and then it jus restarts. every single time! I cant do the F10 restore thing cause it jus sez error, and i lost my recovery cds and i have no idea where 2 get them. WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO? help me out here

I'm not sure I understand your question right, but is there any chance this is happening....
When you go to the "start" button to get to "shut down", and then when you click "shut down", there is a "block" that shows up and has on it the list of what the computer is supposed to do. It shows "shut down" at the top of the list, but farther down on the list there is "restart". Could you have accidentally selected "restart" in the past? (Because if that's the case you just do "shut down" and then click on "shut down" when the block pops up.)

go to the store and buy a full windows xp (current version) and insert it and start up the computer, it is like 100 dollars but it is cheaper than having your hardrive reformatted.

try in safe mode, hit the F8 key gentley as it's starting, go to las good configurtion and click ok.

OK FIRIST OF ALL I THINK YOU PROCESSOR FUN IS NOT WORKING OPEN IT AND SEE IF IT WORKS
SECOND TRY TO TURN IT ON AND KEEP PRESSING F8 AND GO TO SAFE MODE AND THEN RESTORED IT OK CALL ME OR EAMIL ME
