the best and the easiest for a novice is to give BS999 the ten points for best answer as he provided the simplest way by going through the windows live control panel.
so easy it reminded me to check miune and stop mine loading on start up.
something i had been meaning to do for days. but then my system is a server so it has been up straigh 4 days now since it last had to install an update. so you tend to forget these little things when it only happens at start up. anyway.
if you do not see the tools menu there is a little icon top left looks like an up arrow above a down arrow sort of similer to < but 90 degrees sideways up or down. click that then tools and follow the other guys advice.

good luck.

Look at the top of the screen. Click on tools , Then click internet options, then a box appears. About halfway down it says "use current" or "use default" or "use Blank". those are choices. you must have msn as current so type in the name of a new screen eg CNN.com and click use current and it changes to cnn. If you try "use default" it would go back to what it was before msn.

I found out the hard way at work where I had a sexy site on "Use Current" and I did not know how to get shot of it. A laugh and a bit of sweat or it would have been curtains of the whorehouse 4 me!

You need to go to click the Start button and then click Settings. Select Taskbar after you click Settings. You'll get Taskbar Properties, and you'll see where you can select "Start Menu Programs" to change what gets started when your machine is turned on.
