Hello, inside nero burning program, when you burn a dvd you can choose the option of letting it verify the data on the disk after finished burning.

Is that function reliable ? or i should manually go thru the dvd to make sure?

I have used Nero hundreds of times and have NEVER had a problem with a burn, even though I don't verify it. Now I have had problems with certain burn errors before a disk was done, but that stops the process anyways, so it's pointless to dispute if verifying it matters.

From my experience, if it makes it to the point where it can be verified, it doesn't need it. All it does it make the burn process take 2-3 times longer with no perceivable difference to me.

Yes, the Nero data verification method is more thorough than you could possibly be - it would verify the burned files against the original files at a level that you couldn't achieve just by looking at some files on your DVD.

i have never used that option, i dont trust it and it takes up time. i just re-insert the cd/dvd once it has been burned, see if the autostart pops up, and try to run a few things.
