i had to reboot my computer and i lost 15 yrs worth of poems and a book that i wrote. is there a way to scan my hard drive and get it back?

I need help writing a letter...so how do I get the little paper clip guy to pop up and ask if I need help? I'm using Microsoft Word and it isn't working automatically. What can I do?

My stepdaughter has Windows 95 on an older computer in her room. There are errors on start up pertaining to "1mouse" and it states that we must reinstall windows. Rather than reinstalling 95, I would prefer to install a new copy of Windows 98se. I can't seem to find any instruction that will help me do this. Currently her computer will only run in safe mode, which does not recognize her CD-rom so I feel stuck as I cannot even get the 95 CD to be recognized. Can anyone help on the following questions?

1. What steps would I need to go about to remove Windows 95?

2. Where can I find instructions on installing Windows 98SE.

I recently purchased a laptop that was equipped with Windows XP, but a sticker on it says it's Windows Vista capable.
So what's Win Vista about? How is it different from Win XP, and would it be worth purchasing if I'm just a casual PC user, using it mainly for grad school-related work?

I have a problem in excel i wrote a basic adding formula to sum 2 cells and then multiply the sum of them by 9 but the program keeps ignoring the small decimals which at the end makes a huge difference in my calculation, for example: =((J10+P10)*9), thats the formula and J10=12.55 and P10=6.02 and the answer is supposed to b 167.13 but the the program gave me 167.10 as the answer which is off by .03 wut should i do?

HI while i m using my internet many times following message comes
" The instruction at "0x62304390" referenced memory at "0x62304390". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

But when i click OK it doesnt affect my any of the programme. I know that I will definately find solution from all of you, thanking you.

i get "Access is denied" whenever i try to install XP SP2... i tried really hard to do this before and it didnt work so i put it aside and i just worked with all these problems in my comp and not being able to do things with my comps potential...

now i cant take it anymore its pulling my hair out and i need a fix for this thing!!! i came across yahoo answers and it helped me with some questions and if you guys can plz help me with this yahoo answers will reach a new level of respect from me...

Okay, since its been out now for a couple months, anything change with it? I know there were a lot of problems with it before and a lot of people (including myself) had problems with it.
