in theory it shouldn't be harmful, but if you do things like making it a 'real time process' it will be.. ;)) seriously i know there had been some bugs in the past, even vulnerability bugs afaik, but if you download the latest version it shouldn't be a problem. the chances for it to be harmful are extremely low, it may sometimes freeze because of bad codecs or other conflicts when watching movies or video clips, but in the rest of the time it should work perfectly.

Winamp it's self is not harmful.

accualy it was working with me perfectly but after sometime it'll damage itself but the latest version is toooooooooooo old
