I recently tried to copy around 300 MP3 files to my player using Windows Media Player. It:
a)Came up with an Unknown Error for all of them
b)Deleted all of them from my computer
and
c)Keeps up this behaviour everytime I try it.

I'm a bit mad now cos some of those tracks were RARE and I didn't have CD hard copies. Help...

When ever I try to run steam or any games related to steam such as css or half life 2 nothing happens. I double click on the icon and nothing. When i press ctrl alt del it says that steam is running in the processes. It worked about a week ago but it is just not working now. The only thing I have changed is I switched my router with a new one could this be the problem ?

This is what I have

1. a Hdd which is ok (with a rescue partition).
2.a boot cd.
3. My original XP home cd.
4.Koppix linux os on cd
5.Packard bell 2316 with non booting Xp,\windows\system32\config\system missing or corrupt.


Nothing I try works!
I have backed up important data using Koppix to acces the hdd.Booting from cd both with Xp and boot cd just end up with error messages because at some point I am always prompted to select a valid Windows installation (number 1) which gives an registry error message and a reboot.

I am happy to reformat/reinstall whatever,but dont get that option.
(if I put my xp cd in my (working) desktop,I get a reinstall option)

any suggestions

8.a wife who doersn't understand me.
9 a stressful job
10.toothache
11.middle spread

oh yes and I'm bald.

but if you can help with the laptop problem it would be a start!

What does my computer need to be able to accept the software for a digital camera?
I have a Finepix A403 digital camera and each time I put the Software disc into my computer the disc just spins around and around and nothing else happens, I even purchased a new disc thinking that the original one was faulty but still nothing, I have also just purchased a usb cable for my Mobile phone + software to download pics, but I have the same problem, so your help would be much appreciated!

My laptop has this problem that it hangs at "Windows is shutting down" sometimes. I tried Adaware&Spybot and it only helps a little.
It doesn't hang as often.
I was just wondering would it be a good idea to do shutdown -s -f everytime I turn the machine off.
Will that cause any problem to my laptop?
