Software - January 2007

I went to bootdisk.com and downloaded the 4-floppy disk images, in order to run a repair. It did not repair things. I ran both repair options. It gets to the blue startup screen, it then reboots before it says "Windows is starting up". Obviously it's something to do with the boot files. Without the win2k installation cd, is there ANY WAY to fix things?

I cannot use mapquest on any of my browsers, netscape, ie7 or fire fox....I went through the protocol for mapquest's browser configuration with no luck...recently I have reinstalled my windows xp home edition platform and have upgraded to ie7 hoping to fix the problem also when I go to certain websites they tell me I may have a security issue.....maybe this is a connection? I tried going online to microsoft to find answers as well as sony but none were available

Normally on older programs there are currency options, but the new program I bought seems set in Euros and seems to offer only Euros. I think it may have been developed for the UK, but I bought it in Panama and I need it in dollars.

I have 50 hours of video footage to capture and then edit into a 1 1/2 hour film. My hard drive will not hold 50 hours of footage. How can I delete the excess (not needed) footage from a clip so that I can preserve the storage space on my hard drive?

For example: After capturing the footage from a 1 hour tape, I may only need 10 minutes of actual footage from that tape. How do I get rid of the excess footage so that it is not using up valuable storage space on my hard drive?

Adobe Pro seems to indicate that if I delete the source file, I will also lose the good footage I want to keep. Is this true? If so, that doesn't make much sense. I would think that once my chosen clips are in the timeline I should be able to delete the excess footage taking up hard drive space and still preserve the timeline footage.

I have a Win XP Home PC that gets a link light to the router but fails to get an IP from DHCP; when I attempted an 'ipconfig /release - /renew through a command promt, I immediately got this error:

I tried again and got:

Should I reinstall Win XP to fix this?

I'm a certified network administrator and have tested all other network connection elements, except for the OS. I've uninstalled the NIC and reinstalled, to no effect. The router and patch cable have been tested and ruled out.

I just recently installed a dvd burner onto my computer and I am now trying to burn a dvd. I installed the trial version of Nero 7 on my computer and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to RIP the dvd onto my computer, and then BURN the files onto a blank disc. If someone could tell me how to do this it will be greatly appreciated.

I accidentally deleted my user account on windows. When trying to restore it, my restore was shut off, so I cant restore past like a minute ago. When trying to recreate the account with the same name..it says already exists, choose another name...how do I find it then if it doesnt show on the screen?

i had naomi but i got bored of it so what i tried doing is removing it but its like impossible becasue every time i start my windows xp pro it displays an error message saying it couldnt find naomi and i drives me crazy and annoyed every time i start my pc , so can some one tell me how to completely remove it, also i tried searching for it but some one said i could delete it in safe mode can some one also tell me on house to remove it that way?
