Software - January 2007

Hello, I have a small business and we use a reservation operating system program that uses an sql server on a "master" computer. Recently I have switched the master from the office to another workstation outside and made the office a "client". The reason wy I didd that is because the main computer in the office wasnt meeting the specs that a master should. We now have a brand new computer that all the workstations can "see" and they know its there but when I try to connect them to the sql server on it, they say connection not established or connection failed. Why is this and how can I fix it? (When I click about on the sql service manager, below is what it is and what version it is.) Thanks for all your help in advance! I would really appreaciate if a PC geek could help me with this question :(

I re-installed my notebook (Windows XP) some days ago.. you know after some time it needs to be reinstalled. So I did it without having any other special reason.

Today I found a sgc10 (.exe) file on the desktop, and mistakenly I run it. It quickly opened something like a "copying" window for some seconds then nothing happened (something like when installing drivers). After I clicked on the same file again, it did nothing.

Could anyone tell me what this file is?? I have no idea where it came from. All I know is that I downloaded Acrobat Reader on the same day (today) when it appeared. It is about 65kb big and I have found on the Internet a file with the same size here (I used Google to browse for it): http://ftp.uniroma2.it/Adobe/acrobat/win/all/ ...

Could anyone please help me? Is it a trojan/virus or just a left-over of a program? Should I reinstall my notebook again???:((

when i try to install it starts the install then half way through or so it asks for the disk to be inserted. Problem is the disk is already inserted. I have two drives and it happens in both of them. I have done all that microsoft says to do to solve, but nothing works. I need help with this as i cannot install anything now.

I am running Windows XP. My computer came with Microsoft Office 7 pre-installed and it worked fine when I first bought the pc but I have tried using it recently and it won't work.I get a screen message telling me that the "application failed because LTRN13N.dll was not found.Re-installing the application may fix" When I try re-installing the cdrom won't open and run.Has anybody any suggestions how I might be able to fix this problem?

I am looking to "share" a copy of Quarkxpress 7, but it seems that you have to be some sort of internet genuis to download an actually working version with serial/key gen stuff. All I have mananged so far from limewire is crappy, virus's or whatever.

i have downloaded what i understand to be a rip of a dvd, dont worry it isn't an illegal copy.

However it consists of 93 Winrar files, one sfv file, and one msinfo document,

What do i need to do to burn these on to a dvd to watch, i have the software etc and i have extract 1 file which then creates a IMG file it is not an drawing or photograph and its file sixe is 4.5 gig before unzipped it was only 45mb any ideas
