Hi all,

I would really appreaciate if a PC geek could help me with this question :(

I re-installed my notebook (Windows XP) some days ago.. you know after some time it needs to be reinstalled. So I did it without having any other special reason.

Today I found a sgc10 (.exe) file on the desktop, and mistakenly I run it. It quickly opened something like a "copying" window for some seconds then nothing happened (something like when installing drivers). After I clicked on the same file again, it did nothing.

Could anyone tell me what this file is?? I have no idea where it came from. All I know is that I downloaded Acrobat Reader on the same day (today) when it appeared. It is about 65kb big and I have found on the Internet a file with the same size here (I used Google to browse for it): http://ftp.uniroma2.it/Adobe/acrobat/win/all/ ...

Could anyone please help me? Is it a trojan/virus or just a left-over of a program? Should I reinstall my notebook again???:((

Thanks

Have you recently upgraded to Adobe Read 8? This seems to be related to the installer. Dunno why it doesn't clean it up though. You can simply delete it.

A lot of programs, once you click them, run in the background so clicking them again doesn't do anything because they are already running. Chances are this program isn't malicious but if you have anti-virus and anti-spy ware run them to make sure you are OK. If you don't have them, get them... you can't get along without them in this day and age.
