i have a windows xp pro cd that i reinstalled recently. i have two different keycodes, both seemed to work fine for activation. problem is automatic updates this time around was activated, and it installed service pack 2 as an upgrade. now security says my version of windows is not genuine. when i try restoring with system restore it wont go back past the installation, when i try to uninstall it says i will lose all of my files on my computer. my question is, is there a way, without reinstalling windows and losing all my data, that i could some how change the keycode that i entered and replace it with the other one i have ?????? possibly through the registry, if so where is it???

I've downloaded a trial of Adobe Illustrator CS2.
After the 400 mb download, I try to run the program and it says it must 'unzip' the files. it unzips 12 files.

i've tried to open the program, but it is still trying to re-unzip the files.
what do i do now?

I'm looking for something that is user friendly like windows movie maker but has a whole lot more to offer. I'm looking to put together wedding videos, special ocassions, and business ideas. Does anyone know any good programs that can help bring things to life? I have a budget of $500.00 for programming and any extra devices I may need to add on to my computer.

I am trying to download and install the Electric Sheep screensaver and I just cant figure this thing out. It's telling me that it uses bit-torrent to download each sheep (only users will know what I'm talking about - I know what a torrent is, btw) and then to redirect my ports....bla bla bla. Is there anyone out there who has this program that can assist me in installing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

I have a 3.5 preformatted diskette (floppy disk) with six documents on it. When I put it in my A drive it tells me that the disk is not formatted. But if I already have six documents on it, the disk is already is formatted. So I just don't what the problem is. Can you please help me out.

I have Suse Linux 10.0 i think, i havent used it in a while because i am used to Windows XP, and i have heard that once you get used to linux it is ALOT easier to use than XP, and i would like to be one of those few that uses linux, but i would like to know what is the best distro...
i would like it to be able to play games like america's army
i do some C++, HTML, Javascript, PHP, and a little of basic script (though i dont know if that would run on a linux platform or not) so what do you think it the best distro of linux?

I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition. I've tried setting it for 1 minute, and it comes on okay. But then when I set it back to 20 minutes, I leave and come back and it's not on again. Same for power off settings. Can anyone help me?

I learned a little bit of C++ in my computer class, and I tried making the code at home, but I don't know if TextMate compiles it. Does it, because in my version you can select your language as C++, but there are no actions for the language (or C# for that matter). Can you compile it in TextMate or do I need another program (and if I do what is a good one).

I'm doing a survey in school and I've got hundreds of responces. The basic idea of the survey is to identify a specific type of music the person listens to then analyze behavior characteristics. I'm thinking about doing this on Microsoft Excel, since most of my data is numerical, and putting it on a spreadsheet. Can you give me some general help and suggestions, as I don't regularly use Excel and am not especially familiar. I think you can do stuff like averages but I'm not totally sure...Thanks for the help.

How can I download another copy? I've been to Windows update for the SP2 pack, but I still don't have WMM. Update isn't downloading it, and I've tried multiple other links/downloads, but to no avail. My recycle bin was also emptied before I knew it happened. How can I get it back??? Remember, I've already been to Windows update, and I also already tried the win directory backup...
