Why does the Windows Defender service message with 0x800 106ba appear each time I turn on my computer?

Hey there,

Okay, here goes.

If you did not install this after January 1, you probably have the old beta which expired. Goto the Microsoft site and download the new version.
You are having a problem with the update of defender. You probably have a firewall issue, or if you are on a "Network" somewhere, you may have a group policy set to update from a SUS or WSUS server that does not have Windows Defender selected as part of its update package. If you haven't a clue of what I am talking about, don't worry about it. It is for the more advanced anyway.

Uninstall Defender and reinstall it with the latest version.

have you got the beta mine started refusing to sacn so i upgraded to the full version.
