Frostwire is better than Limewire. But if you're downloading viruses, Frostwire won't help. That's something you need to know about before you start downloading things from people you don't know, or websites you can't trust. MP3s and video files can't have viruses because they're "read-only". Do you know how to tell if a file is an mp3 or not? I'm pretty sure LimeWire tells you what kind of file it is, so you should be able to know. If it's an mp3, it can't be a virus. Period.

Dr. HOUSE (above) is absolutely right on!!
I've had limewire for over 4 years and no viruses. Do you keep your virus protection updated? No matter what P2P file sharing program you use, you'll get viruses if you don't protect your computer. Not to mention youmust scan it for spyware and all the other crap that comes with filesharing! "Free Music" isn't free-you either pay the price of a great virus protection program or you pay by getting viruses!

Well its so stupid how EVERYBODY uses limewire for file sharing, but its also the worst! Slows down computers, pours in viruses and spyware, and you're forced to install a spyware system on it when you accept the license agreement! But still people are stubborn enough to still use it, no thought that they can just look for another, as if limewire is the only p2p network on the net, yeah right! I highly suggest bearshare. Not the latest version, but the version right before it's last upgrade. Bearshare 5.2.5.

It is not the program that causes the problem. It is illegally sharing files between people. Some people do it with a good intent and others are just looking for a quick way to spread viruses.
Go to a reliable web site and pay for the music or copy it directly from a CD.

ALL file sharing sites work the same way! Will wonders never cease! Someone is finally gettin smart! You download files from others PCs! Not a site! What makes you think that any of these sites will be any different? They are all full of people with malicious intent! Take sconehead for instance, he still has no clue!

And what makes you think you won't get viruses from other p2p programs?
It's not the programs themselves which gives you viruses.....it's the people who send you the music files. You are allowing a stranger to send something to your computer. How do you know whether or not theres a virus/worm/trojan in that file ??
