Software - November 2006

This has been happening for months. Upon boot of Windows, or just any other time it feels like it- even if I don't have an Internet Explorer window open, I get a message pop up that says: Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost." There is only a CLOSE button at the bottom right. No "X" at the top right. When I click CLOSE, nothing happens- explorer does not shut down. Anybody know what is causing that?! Thank you!

I need to put a tape cassette on to a cd & I dont know if it can be done through a pc 2 be burn'd off...I have all the programs on my pc but not sure how & what equiptment I would need to use for a tape cassette...If anyone can help it would be fantastic as it really is very important..

after i download music and play it back on my pc it skips occasionaly. but i can burn a copy and it plays fine on a c.d. player. it only skips when listening to my music throgh my windows media player. i have tried disableling all anti virus programs but that doesnt help.it did this on wmp 10 and now it it still does it on wmp 11 as well please help me. okay. so i go into internet explorer. i go to the macromedia flash website. i download it. the download finishes. NOTHING HAPPENS. i restart my computer. nothing new is installed. I need flash so i can delete this stupid vongo thing.

When I turn on my XP, I am greeted by an error message before the loading completes. It reads: RUNDLL Error loading /3/1xcf time.dll. The computer completes loading ; but I want to get rid of this bug. Any suggetions how I can get things moving smoothly?

I'll have firefox open, with like 3 tabs, and after a while when i click on one of the tabs it doesn't open. like it semi-freezes, so i close it and try to restart firefox but it says firefox is already running, so i have to ctrl alt and del close it, and reopen it. any idea why?

When I play videos that are avi, it only does the sound, not the picture (it shows 'ambience' instead). I can watch mpg and mpeg videos fine. What do I need to do to see avi videos?

When logging on to my computer it reads: checking file system on c: The type of file system is ntfs. one of your disks needs to be checked for consistancy. you may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue. windows will now check the disk. to skip disk checking, press any key within (#) seconds.

when it hits zero seconds this adds to the screen:

chkdsk is verifying files (1 of 3)...
# percent completed.

the place where # is goes up to 79 then a screen comes on that has a whole page of writing saying an error was made, but only stays on for about a second . then the whole process starts over.

i would really appreciate any help with this problem!

Maybe this is an easy thing to change, but I'm too lazy to find out – is there a way to start up iPhoto without it going immediately to the library? This is both quite slow, and of course it shows every last one of my pictures to people, which I don't particularly want.
