My younger brother and sister have been using a internet downloading system called Ares. They told me today that they received a warning message telling them that they will be fined if they continue downloading.

I didn't personally see it so I don't know exactly what it said. Has anyone else received such a message?

My building has wifi. I've always kept my laptop on my own, private network, so I'm not so familar with security things of this sort. Anyway. I have a huge spyware problem after three days. My computer is real slow, and I get a relevant popup (a bank if I'm searching for banks, some entertainment thingy if I'm on myspace, etc) every two or three minutes. It's dang inconvenient, and I'm worried about the health of my computer.

I have Norton, although it hasn't been updated recently, and use Windows EXP. My computer's an Inspiron.

I'm trying to use a website, but I keep getting a message telling me to disable my ad-blockers, or else the site won't work. Up until today, I didn't have an ad-blocker, and I wasn't aware I had one installed at all! How do I disable the ad-blocker?

When ever I go to Yahoo and type in like the Chicago Cubs, click on the site, it redirects me to Lycos dot com with other Cubs stuff. it is annoying.

One of a Yahoo answerer answered me to install this "Lavasoft's ad-aware" from the download.com.He said that my pc might have a key logger,so he insited me to install this to remove everything it finds.
Should i have to do that?Whats that actually?Pls guide friends.

If someone claims to have hacked into my computer....can they really get into my bank account without knowing the password to the security question the bank asks for? I DO NOT have the password saved onto my computer. And whats the worse that could happen if someone hacks into my computer? I dont have anything private saved into my computer. Only recipes and pictures.

can someone add a tracker software to my computer to track what i type on the computer,or where i go on the internet?i've heard of this from somewhere on one of my friends and i was just curious about it.i'm just wondering if it is true that you can be tracked on where-ever you go on the computer,or the internet.

Our pop up blocker is on. but still everytime this weird websit would pop up. Dating, and other video websites. We have an Advanced Spyware program that we dowloaded after our computer started freaking out, and now it seems it's even worse. When you click something instead of hearing one click i hear like ten in a row and then the website loads and reloads and reloads. And when i type the letters would skip as if the computer can't pick them up fast enough. We have an almost new dell computer, but we don't know what to do, it's driving me nuts, when everytime something new pops up and the spyware programs has an automated guy saying "Your computer is infected with a virus" and then a siren signal turns on that freaks me out. Is this program helping or making things worse? Please anybody give me some advice. Thanks.
We hired a guy that said we had a lot of viruses that he tried to clean up, but the computer is acting way worse now, than when we had unknown viruses.
