Try coming up in Safe Mode and running your anti-virus from there. Also, if you boot into Safe Mode with Networking, you may be able to create new connections and download help.

To get into Safe Mode:

1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. You may have to log in as Administrator to delete bad files. Administrator often has no password.
5. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Good luck.

Well, sounds like it may be time to reformat the hard drive and run a system restore.

Actually, if you can boot the computer and, prior to the system loading Windows, run system recovery, you still might be able to revive it. Do you have any on CD-Rom anti-virus software that you can run? You' re going to need it.

Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

Good luck!

2 Things.
If you haven't kept Virus Software on your computer and kept the virus Defenitions up to date.
And, if you haven't tried to get rid of it from one of the major Virus Software makers you may have to Insert the Original Operating Systems CD and completely wipr your hard drive and reInstall

I have 2 ways to get rid of the virus, if you have a backup for your coputer, go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Backup, if you don't have any backups, then you should Reinstall Your Windows.
