Govt spent something like $84M in setting up a **** filter only to find that a schoolboy cracked it and the boy said "a better filter could be encoded for a few million dollars only"! What security do we really have over the data on internet is what worries me?

Hi. ANY program can be hacked/cracked. With this in mind you can set your machine to block specific sites within your 'Hosts" file.

Whichever country you are in, something is wrong with the government policy, 84M for a **** filter? Better get FBI and CIA to investigate where the money go. Welldone school boy.
Most on-the-shelf program can do filtering, even microsoft windows come with limited filtering,
With content filtering subscriptions, or even full time persons to check on the content of network traffic, you don't need 84M

Don't worry about things you don't have any control over. It only shortens your life.

As far as the schoolboy that figured out the crack. Good On Him. He will be offered a job getting bigs bucks writting security software.

as far as security is concerned, some one smarter than the best nerds will always be able to build a better mouse trap and defeat the filters in use, and they dont need a costly college degree to do it either, all thats needed is time and determination. when it comes to govt financing, its done by committee, always choosing the lowest bidder, or someones brother in law for the contract, not necessarily the best team on on earth, unfortunately, welcome to the real world
