i have a file named vpc log (462, 602 kb) and a folder named updater5 in my documents? are these viruses? plzz help

who knows any good, free anti-virus/spyware programs that actualy delete things without having to regester the program?
my computer is in so much danger! i have 4gb of music, and 12gb of pictures of me and my family.... i cant loose these things!! i paid lots of money for the music, and the pictures are very special....

I had limewire on a previous laptop and had no problem with it. But this is a new one and i'm running Vista. Would that have anything to do with the firewall? How can I get past it?

My dear sweet fiance, dowloaded a computer virus.We ran Nortan and found it was a trogan called- Trojan.Vundo.Don't know much about it, but we quarintined it and resolved the problem with Nortan.Our computer still won't run correctly. Our desktop pops up an error message comes up saying- "Error loading C:\windows\system32\uowahmuo.dll Specified module could not be found." - Our computer is super slow and shows that more than 40 processes are running, when there is nothing that sound be running. Our CPU usage keeps spiking to 100% when we aren't running any programs.Also, when I went into add/remove programs, I found something called Outer-info, never heard of it.The file size was over 300 mg.so I deleted it. I also went in and diabled system restore, rebooted and ran virus scan again and it's not finding anything. I don't know what else to do?We can only use the computer on safe mode becuase on normal mode it's too slow and pops up that error system 32 message.Plz Help!!!!

i wanna ask if "drive cleaner" is a virus or spyware. i never install this program but it keep poppin' out these few days and says my pc may be at risk and asks me to download programs from its site.

then i looked it up on yahoo and went to the following site and it said it is a spyware which could not be tracked by normal removal programs, and it says "Xoftspy" is one of the few program which can remove it. So, shall i dl the xoftspy thing? or is it another spyware? please help!!

Someone gave me a computer worm a link to http://ns1.hosting101.biz/~metalurg/images/template/index.php that automatically makes itself my homepage in Internet explorer..

Also my run command dissapeared from my start menu...

Yahoo messenger keeps automatically trying to email the virus link to my friends....

I've tried AVG, Spybot and Lavasoft, all found the virus but none do anything to fix it. deleting it or moving it to the "vault" doesn't work. Healing it doesn't work either!

I've done full scans also...

Everyone uses the computer here, and a member of my family turns it in the morning, but leaves it on, but I like to use it from time to time. I heard that is better that way because is harmful for the computer to be shutted down all the time.
