The correct answer to the question is:
You cant GET the persons password with out downloading a KEYLOGGER program.

This would be the only way to GET the persons password.

You can CHANGE it to what ever you like with a couple methods.

1. Click start, run, type CMD, hit enter, at command prompt type: net user {USERNAME HERE} * "follow pompts"

2. F8 on start up and select safe mode. Select Admin account (Provided it is not passworded), goto control panel, user accounts, select user, click delete password. Or change password.

But to actually GET their password you would have to use a keylogger program to GET the password with out their knowledge.

Any changes to the persons password and they would be alerted, that some one is messing with it.

You can only do this to access somebody's account and they will know about it. You won't get their password, but you will get access.

Okay so:
Go to Control Panel>User Accounts>(click on users name)> Remove Password(Must have administrator rights). Log off.
Log on to the users account.

Copy the registry hives from C:\WINDOWS\system32\config, then take them to your computer and run a cracker on them. If the passwords are relatively weak you might be able to crack them. I think Elcomsoft offers programs to do that.

Please consider the ethics of what you are trying to do.

You can not. The passwords are stored encrypted using a one-way system. They can not be recovered.

You ask that person, if they trust you enough, you will have it.
