I know that the new Yahoo email system and Outlook both automatically open the most recent email when I sign in so this is why I am wondering. I ended up going back to the old Yahoo email system because of this concern.

Within 3 hours awarninglist.com completely paralyzed my computer. The hijacker would not let me download a removal tool, and now my computer is pretty much frozen...it doesn't look good does it. If anyone knows anything to help my dying PC please help.
As soon as I saw the warning balloon I launched a Norton scan and it didn't even detect the trojan. It took two hours for the scan, and for another hour I tried, with no success to download a remover tool, by that time the computer was moving very slowly and not allowing the remover. Now the computer doesn't seem to be doing ANYTHING. It starts, but that is it

My mom's computer is fairly new, and her subscription to Word is expiring in a few days. Since when did Word cease to come free with the computer?? When her Word program expires, will she still have access to her Word files? Will they erase???

Every once and a while my AIM will send random messages to people telling them to go to some site. It's very annoying. I've tried virus scans, deleting the file with the virus, AIMfix, and reinstalling AIM but it still does it

This is related to an earlier question. After receiving `Threat alerts' from AVG, it gives the option of moving them to the AVG Virus Vault, but prompts me to confirm, as moving system32 files may make my OS unstable. These infected files are located in both my C and D (partition) drives of my Windows XP. Is it safe to delete them once they have been moved to the Virus Vault??? (NB. AVG Virus Vault is the quarantine area)

Also, can I fix the Windows system files if they have been damaged??

I have always assumed that MP3 files are generally virus free.
I've never had any problems with stuff like MP3s or movie files I've obtained via P2P file sharing programs.

Recently I've been swapping a lot of Mp3 files with people via Bulletin Board Forums. I was wondering if anyone has heard of viruses being transmitted via MP3.

Naturally I'm suspicious of .exe files but is it possible that a malicious executable file could be hidden in / disguised as an MP3?

Would most anti-virus software like AVG, or Nortons automatically screen the file before the attachment opens, or should I dowload the file and manually direct a scan of each file first?

I can't run McAfee, I can't run system restore, I can't do system searches, I can't compose, check, delete my messages on my email. I remembered this happened couple days ago and I can't figure out what has happned. I did a virus scan 6 times and no virus was found. Also I found a new one right now! I got unlimited wording on my details and my question. I'm just so confused.
