I spoke to someone yesterday, who said the firewall that comes with windows xp is all need. However, other people state a router, or seperate software program such as Norton, Zonealarm, Mccafee, ect are better. Who is correct and why? I have one computer in my home, use dsl, and have one modem. Thanks

When i am conecting my computer with net . My system uses 99% of cpu . After that I am not able to do any thing on my computer. so plz help & tell me what should i do?

one another problem :- if u have any idea about brontok.A virus , plz help me. i have to remove it from my lab computer, Because of virus my system restarts again & again.

When I am on someone's message list, I am starting to get messages, supposedly from them, that directs me to a picture site. This is NOT from them. I have not clicked on the site, which is probably why I have not yet caught this thing. Anyone know anything about it? Does YAHOO offer a cleaner?

Hi, Im having some problems on one of my Windows XP SP1 computers.

'Whenever I attempt to connect to the internet it goes to a blu screen and begins a memory dump.

I got these Files in July

scmt16.exe
drsmartload1.exe
tkoxhcu.exe
sxryu.exe
sminlm.exe
jmmyrach.exe
ibm00001.exe
axrc.exe
xmlvngd.exe

They are all viruses
but scmt16 turned off my firewall, but I fixed that.

It is definitely a virus, not a problem with the RAM. I put two new 1 GB cards into the computer.

Also it shuts off when i try to use windows update.

I used the win32.blaster.worm removal kit but it didnt work.

Any help?

Attention all computer freaks, What is the best way to coming up with a password that can not be easily guessed, or hacked?! is there some kind of code or secret way of coming up with something creative?!

i thought of an example of a good password, "H20UUP2"
(no this is not my pass for ANYTHING, seen it on license plate)

I just finished installing the norton antivirus 2007. I don't see anything about it including firewall on the box. I went to there site, but am just lost. (I wish they had someone to answer a simple question) My question is - I have Windows Firewall on my computer should I leave it on with the Norton 2007?
