This is the easiest and best way to stop this annoyance Start>Run then type in msconfig and hit enter when system configuration utility opens click on the startup tab and uncheck the box next to Bt help notifier, then apply changes and restart your computer. If you need further help e-mail me...........Oh by the way the help notifier is useless anyway so by stopping it at startup you are also saving resources.

If you have up-graded to IE7 from IE6 this will apply to you.
SmartBridge:
smartbridge is distributing an old version of PSAPI.DLL As a result user's may receive the following error message after installation of Internet Explore 7.
smartbridge alerts: MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found
the procedure entry point get process image file name w could not be found in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL
To work around this error:
*Navigate to the installation location for smartbridge (\program files\verizon\smartbridge)
*find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to PSAPIOLD.DLL
*reboot the system
the program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the \windows\system32 directory and will function normally. this should sort out the problem for you, good luck

Fix for this SmartBridge Alert
My ISP is NTL, the following fix worked for me.
Go to MY COMPUTER, double click on "C" drive, then programme files folder, then NTL folder, then broadband medic, then Smartbridge folder where I found psapi.dll.
I changed this to psapiold.dll and then closed down and re-booted. It worked !! I guess for any other ISP you could follow this fix and just look for your own provider instead of NTL, don't know which file psapi will be in but it shouldn't take long to locate it.

This seems to be a recurring problem in Internet Explorer 7. If the above doesn't help, uninstall IE 7 and go back to IE6.

Hi m8,

I have the same prob on both my computers, did you upgrade internet explorer? and did you notice that this alert only came on since you upgraded internet explorer.

I haven't a clue as to how to get rid of it, if you find out will you let me kinow.
The reason I know that it is something to do with Internet explorer is because it first appeared on my laptop, but when it appeared on my pc then I knew what I did before the alert came up.

Please don't forget to let me know if you find a way to get rid of it.

Jimmy

Thanks to clarky, I tried what he said and it worked, Cheers clarky I appreciate your hyelp mate.

Have you tried scanning for spyware? There are many free ones out there. I found this guide pretty helpful, hope this helps. http://www.basicspywaretips.com/getridofspyware.html
