I also couldn't check yahoo/gmail/hotmail when I logged on to the internet, but I seemed to navigate other pages just fine. I thought that I should upgrade to IE 7, but now I cannot log in at all and since my Add/Remove is gone, I cannot uninstall it. So now I cannot get on the internet (I'm using my brother's computer to write this.)

I try logging in with Safe Mode and see if I could connect to the internet that way, but the Add/Remove doesn't even show up. HELP!

Please help! I am now near 100% certain I have Smitfraud. I've been to several sites, and all of the examples of smitfraud are popping up! I can see right through this smitfraud, but I think it's getting serious... the first time I typed in Yahoo in my URL bar, it wouldnt let me go without buying antispyware stuff, but I typed it in again and it worked. This dang stuff is driving me nuts. I get all sorts of viruses and spyware warnings every minute, and I've been told it's all fake. PLease Help!

Ive just downloaded Zonealarm but I did a test that trys and gets past your firewall and both Windows Firewall (Default) and the Zone Alarm one got it 100% stealth. I find zone alarm a bit annoying with all the pop-ups you get asking for access to the internet and the only up-side (that I know of) in zone alarm it checks outgoing activity.
Which one should I use?
Do I really need one that checks out-going activity?

I wondered if my laptop is secure enough!
I Have:-
Zone Alarm Firewall (Free Pro Trial Version [Just installed from Windows Firewall])
Panda Anti-Virus 2007
Windows Defender

And I scan my PC at least once a day!
Is my laptop secure enough or do I need more?

I caught spyware during download and it keeps trying to go to the captioned websites. (I unplug network cable and Dial-up networking screen appears once every 5 minutes to get permission to connect, that's how I find out the web link). Using AVG anti-spyware can't kill them (probably the spyware takes over control already). Any means to get around without re-install Windows 2000 server ? Thanks.
