Security - October 2006

For two weeks my computer keeps tellin me that windows has dectected spware infection. But on norton anti-virus i did a full system scan, and nothing came up. Then this pop-up says:

Virus alert
Norton Anti-virus has detected a virus on your comp
And the virus is called DriveCleaner

How do i get rid of this, my comp isn't working good. Any help appreciated!

Im currently using Windows' bulit in Firewall...plus i dun wanna use another firewall like Zonealarm Pro..i use to use it; itz da same as Windows' firewall..so dats y i use Window's Bulit in firewall...n e way i use NOD32 antivirus.<--is there a better anti than NOD32? (i think that its alright..lightweight doesnt hog system) I also use Spybot, Ad Aware Pro, Clean up! and thats about it, its that okay? Wat else should i add for extra security? or cleanning? or to keep my computer stablized. Thanks.

Volunteer doctor for thirty years working in refugee camps for no compensaton. Now I am retired and see psychiatric patients in my home free. (Live on a very small pension).

Frustration has set in with Paretologic & Spyware doctor.

Everything on my pc is legal and purchased.

I purchased xoftspy 4.22 when (paretologic was listed as rogue company) last year. Purchased last year spyware doctor, because their support told me that their software would support Windows 2000 Server. (They lied to me as it did not support and they refused to refund my money).

I use A2Squared2 an Ewido, both finds 64 versions of "filespy". Will not remove. Installed spyware doctor back , as I now use Windows XP Prof. Finds the 64 "filespy", says unable to remove must purchase. Xoftspy 4.22 does not fine anything.

XoftspySe, finds the 64 "filespy", will only remove if I purchase. (I no longer have credit cards). Need a key please.

I have a mac with 2 users set up. The other user can access my files (users>name>etc..) but I cannot access theirs. It just shows a restricted sign. How can I access their files and also can I block the other user from accessing mine.

I have received "mail delivery failures" and discovered that someone has used my e-mail address to send out spam. the delivery failures are coming back to me because my e-mail address is in the "from" line. I have run virusscan and spyware scan and found nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this or do I just have to change my e-mail address? I really don't want to do that because I have had the same e-mail for 6-7 years. Thank you

Why do trojans, viruses, and adware try to steal your homepage? Also what is Bla Trojan Horse and how do you remove it? My friend is having a hard time with this trojan. I seen a bunch of files that either are written in French or have the words "from France" in them.
