Sometimes when I go to shut down my computer I get this message saying "somebody else is logged into this computer do you still wish to shut down" I am not quite sure of the exact message but I know it is very close to that. This happened twice to me so far and when I turn my computer back on after that none of my icons pop up on my computer so I have to keep shutting it off. The last time it took me around 3 hours to get all of my stuff to pop back on to the screen. What is going on? Is this some kind of virus or spyware because when I scan my computer it comes up with nothing. What is going on with my computer?

I download the AVG free edition, because my Norton Anti Virus is out of date, and I cannot affort to update it yet. But in the AVG free edition, I can't find the function that protects you as soon as you surf the web (blocking worms and bugs as they come along). In Norton is called "auto protect", but there seem to be none of the
kind in AVG. It is under another name which I overlooked? Or it really doesn't provide that service?

Can the government find out exactly who I am by an IP adress. What if I'm on a network of many computers. Can they find out your comp. name and workgroup via IP adress? I heard about some guy getting arrested through an IP track. However, this was a dial up service.

I'm using Windows XP right now and I placed a password for my account, but my younger brother said something about pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE multiple times can get you in the computer without answering the password. I was wondering how you can let people NOT enter your computer even if they press CTRL+ALT+DELETE multiple times?

I am fairly new to having a personal computer, less than a year. I have the usual software protection programs.

However, I will not venture into any online banking or bill paying online because I am afraid of some unknown boogeyman stealing my money.

I won't even email anyone outside of a small circle of people because once again, I am afraid of some stranger showing up at my front door.

Are these fears valid? Or just ignorance based? I would like to be more active online, to get more use out of my purchase, but I am just scared.

What is your opinion? I am not l really looking for links to computer products, as I am too, yes, scared to click on a link from here...just talk me down out of these fears....

Whenever I scan my computer with my Anti-virus program (Ad-aware) a box appears and shows that I have a Trojan in my computer. The Ad-aware doesnt pick it up but the VirusScan does. The problem is, when it says it has deleted the trojan and I start the scan again with Ad-aware, the same box appears saying the Trojan is there again.

So my question is. Is the VirusScan helpful? And how do I get rid of this Trojan?
