Most desktops do not have wireless capability. They would need to add a wireless card (either internal or USB) to the desktop. The Network key for the desktop will be the same as for the laptop. All computers going on to the same network use the same network key.

Remember one thing before you purchase a wireless card for the desktop. The fastest you can connect with a wireless card is 54mps. And that is if you are the ONLY computer on the wireless network and you have 100% signal strength. Most wireless computers run at half that speed, or less. Using a cable, you will run at 100mps - at least twice as fast as wireless. So unless you have a real need to go wireless on your desktop, you probably do not want to give up half your computer's speed - or more - just to be wireless.
