Whenever I scan my computer with my Anti-virus program (Ad-aware) a box appears and shows that I have a Trojan in my computer. The Ad-aware doesnt pick it up but the VirusScan does. The problem is, when it says it has deleted the trojan and I start the scan again with Ad-aware, the same box appears saying the Trojan is there again.

So my question is. Is the VirusScan helpful? And how do I get rid of this Trojan?

In my spare time I test antivirus an antispyware program, to see if they perform as claimed. An also to see if there are embedded trojans, in thier program or the wizard installer they use to guide you through the program.

I use this antivirus program for over nine years an I have never had one virus in my system. This program will remove your trojan for you. Please know that you can only use one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system. You can use two or three antispyware without conflict.

http://www.avast.com Download their free home for personal use. The corporate version is the same, but they just make corporate pay. They will ask you for your email so they can send you a free key that is good for one year. After one year you must ask for another key.

Again either shut down the virus scan you have or just remove it as it is not working for you.

Avast is state of the art technology light years ahead of any free or purchase version of antivirus programs. You will get twice or three times per day automatic updates. This program has the very best realtime guard running in the background. If you had this program, installed, the trojan would have never been able to enter your system As the realtime guard in Avast will catch it in realtime and destroy the trojan.. Plus it will advise you with a pop-up in the tray. If you have your speakers on a male voice will come on and say, "virus has been detected and destroyed".

Be sure to always reboot your system after any virus as been detected and destroyed.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

Ad ware scans for spy ware and sometimes when a virus is cleaned up by a virus scan, the spy ware scan recognizes it. If you are not having anymore problems I wouldn't borrow trouble for now! Run the Virus scan again. Peace!

Well first off Ad-Aware is not an antivirus software. Ad-aware is an anti spyware/adware program. You need to get an antivirus software. I highly recomend NOD32 (www.eset.com) as I have found it is the best AV software available.
If you dont want to pay for anything go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and get a free online scan.
