a Trojan opens up back doors so that viruses and other bad codes can be put or ran on your computer. So Trojans sneak things past your PCs defenses and kinda strike within just like the Trojan horse with the soldiers inside that's how it got its name. Trojan horses can vary but most are a pain and will cause problem unless you treat them with anti virus program and make sure your computers firewall and or anti virus systems are updated.
Basically a Trojan is a program or code that can secretly do things to your PC theses things can vary.

Trojan horse is a malicious program that is disguised as or embedded within legitimate software.
They may look useful or interesting (or at the very least harmless) to an unsuspecting user, but are actually harmful when executed
There are two common types of Trojan horses. One, is otherwise useful software that has been corrupted by a cracker inserting malicious code that executes while the program is used. Examples include various implementations of weather alerting programs, computer clock setting software, and peer to peer file sharing utilities. The other type is a standalone program that masquerades as something else, like a game or image file, in order to trick the user into some misdirected complicity that is needed to carry out the program's objectives.

A destructive program that masquerades as a benign application. Unlike viruses, Trojan horses do not replicate themselves but they can be just as destructive. One of the most insidious types of Trojan horse is a program that claims to rid your computer of viruses but instead introduces viruses onto your computer.
The term comes from the a Greek story of the Trojan War, in which the Greeks give a giant wooden horse to their foes, the Trojans, ostensibly as a peace offering. But after the Trojans drag the horse inside their city walls, Greek soldiers sneak out of the horse's hollow belly and open the city gates, allowing their compatriots to pour in and capture Troy.
Trojan horses are broken down in classification based on how they breach systems and the damage they cause. The seven main types of Trojan horses are:
* Remote Access Trojans
* Data Sending Trojans
* Destructive Trojans
* Proxy Trojans
* FTP Trojans
* security software disabler Trojans
* denial-of-service attack (DoS) Trojans

a trojan is a type of virus. i'm not really educated about it but you can google trojan virus and you'll probably find out a lot about it. all i really know is that it's bad if your computer is infected with it. viruses cause problems to the computer, they can corrupt files, corrupt the system, erase files, etc. viruses pretty much put your computer up feces creek. so it's good to have your computer secure and up to date along with a firewall and virus protection.

a trojan is much like a virus. they are generally associated with pornography. the cause popup adds (often pornagraphic in nature) to appear on your computer and sometimes download other unwanted things. they can come form many places including but not limited to pornographyu, large network p2ps, and just random nonpornographic indeed perfectly innocent websites. most virus scanners and or spam scanners can handle them with ease. occasionally one or two will appear that requir a large effort to repair however

it's like a virus, but it intertwines into your system, making it very hard to get rid of. it's purpose is to create a back-door for the hacker to get into your computer, where he/she can cause much more serious samage. hackers also use trojans to monitor your activity on the computer, or steal information, like passwords or serial numbers.

Its a nasty program that hides in what seems to be a inocent program. It then comes out when you don't expect it and gives you crap. Just the Tojan horse at Troy. Your anti virus should get it and kill it or quarentine it. Be careful where and what you download thats how they get into you system.
