Sometimes when I go to shut down my computer I get this message saying "somebody else is logged into this computer do you still wish to shut down" I am not quite sure of the exact message but I know it is very close to that. This happened twice to me so far and when I turn my computer back on after that none of my icons pop up on my computer so I have to keep shutting it off. The last time it took me around 3 hours to get all of my stuff to pop back on to the screen. What is going on? Is this some kind of virus or spyware because when I scan my computer it comes up with nothing. What is going on with my computer?

All answers are spot on does sound like someone is hacking you, trojans can be used to anything on your computer, switch it on switch it off, even switch on your webcam.
Best thing to do is: Get spybot search and destroy, and get rid of the virus.
Now get a hold off hide ip platinum, this hides your ip address from all other people (which is how someone can connect to your computer)
Get a decent anti virus program (best one is bitdefender)

this is a perfect example of hackers. r u logged on the net, if u r then log off and change your password and also get a firewall like zonealarm. that will prevent u form further hacker attacks.

the link to get zone alarm is as follows
http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10061193.html

it has its own anti spyware and firewall. it will stop all hackers it can hide your IP too so go the right way.

its also possible you have a Trojan, so get a anti virus form a friend like Norton ani virus. and then get zone alarm pro firewall and finally get the latest updates for both the programs

if this doesn't work mail me ill try and help u then

Are you sure you have no other accounts? What are you running, XP? If so there are some standard accounts like admin and guest that come set up on your system - and these are just the sort of things hackers can use to get it.

Go to the control panel and click on "users", see what users are there. And yes, the answers are good, if you don't have a firewall get one.

Another one to download is Spybot search n destroy along with Ad-Aware from Lavasoft
If you need a free Firewall Zone Alarm is just the thing...
Most of these you can download from Downloads.com

Happy hunting cos you also might need Hi-Jack this ,they sort out what is or not causing you problems with your browser etc... cheers

Can you try this?
Delete all other accounts, on your PC, and keep only admin account. Check if the same problem is existing. If yes, better change your admin passowrd.
