You do not really need any additional software.
If you use IE, follow these steps:
Start > My Computer > right click on C drive > Properties > Disk Cleanup .... this will clear your cache.
You can also use Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Delete Files ... and check the 'delete offline content' , click OK
Then you will be back on the Internet Options panel .. click Clear History > at the prompt, choose yes to clear all > OK
and at the Internet Options panel once again, choose Delete Cookies > Yes .
There is a SETTINGS button for the cookies and cache, where you can choose to VIEW all the cookies and delete the ones you do not want shown.
Now ... if you use Google or Yahoo toolbars, they will save your searches. You will have to remember to clear those, as well.
You might also ... in XP ... go to Start > My Computer > C > Documents and Settings > Administrator > Local Settings > Temporary Internet Files ... then on the menu bar choose EDIT > Select All > then go to the menu bar and choose FILE > DELETE.
This will delete ALL traces of the internet footprints. You can also clear the history from the Local Settings folder.
NOTE: This is normally a hidden folder. You may have to right click on START > Control Panel > Folder Options > View > and click the box to Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Don't forget to clear the recent documents list, too.

Tools
Internet Options
Clear Cookies
Delete Files (offline)
Clear History
set days to keep pages in history to 0
There is a downside: When you delete cookies, some programs or goodies you downloaded may or may not work, pictures may or may not become X’s the next time you open the file, etc.
It’s your choice to make.
You can also:
Click Contents tab: now click the content tab, click to clear auto complete, click to clear forms.
Where it says use autocomplete, uncheck all the things you dont want your browser to store. This way you won’t have to keep going back and clearing things out. Good luck

I manually clear the cookies, history, and temp files from the browser options under tools.
You can use cCleaner to clear your cookies (and selectively keep them) automatically when your computer start-up.
Use Start> Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup. You can also set the scheduler to automatically run Disk Cleanup at a preset time.

Whenever I close my browser I use the cleanup utilities in IE, ie.. cookies, files, history. My "days to keep history" is set to zero.
Every couple of days I use Easycleaner (highly recommend), Ad-aware, and Spybot. Between these three they keep me pretty clean. I also set my Task Scheduler to run Norton, Defender, and Defrag once a week (while I'm sleeping). Good Luck.
P.S. Make sure you check for updates on those programs before you run them.

I can see that no one understands the question that you asked. I use a program called ccleaner. It will do what you are asking. It is also free.
