I was shopping for a computer desk and noticed they all have the computer tower on the floor, in a cabinet close to the floor, or on a shelf near the floor. Why is that? does it improve performance or something?

I got this new computer and it came with windows vista....
All I had to do was switch it on and wait for windows to load files ...
Once that was done I had to choose a name for my computer and password..
I did that and then it came to the welcome screen...
I had to type in my password to log on....

Well I typed it in and it says "logging on to user profile service failed"
'user profile cant load"

What can I do?
I typed in the right password...so thats not the problem..
How can I get past this?
Please anybody help

1)i have two computers one is always on line, and the other one rarely if ever goes on line, both have mcafee installed on them. i want to know if there is
any way i could update mcafee on the computer which does not have access to the internet, using my flash (pen drive)etc.

2)the one with access to the internet has fully updated mcafee.

I have just ordered a new pc. With vista being the newest microsoft opperating system i thought it would be worth buying a computer with it already installed. But after looking through a bunch of websites, a lot of people are saying that it isnt as good as xp and isnt worth the money. Have i made a mistake buying a pc with vista?

I want to install ubuntu on my Archos Gmini 400.
And I want to know how much space it will take up?
The only reason I am going to put it on my Archos Gmini 400 is that I want to keep my Hard Drive as spacious as I can and someone said XP and ubuntu can clash.
