I want to install ubuntu on my Archos Gmini 400.
And I want to know how much space it will take up?
The only reason I am going to put it on my Archos Gmini 400 is that I want to keep my Hard Drive as spacious as I can and someone said XP and ubuntu can clash.

I think you'll need quite a bit. But not that much.

The absolute minimum for a normal desktop installation is 3 GB. If you can, go with 10 GB.

Presume you will be dual booting with Windows XP, which is what I do, There are no conflicts.

If I have two hard drives I use one for the operating systems and one for storage. If I have only one hard drive, I create a second partition (when I am installing windows) for storage, and leave enough free space for my UBUNTU installation. I always save my data to the storage partition from both OS'. This gives me the freedom to re-install an OS should the need arise, without disturbing my data. However, I always backup my data before making changes to my computer.

Feel free to contact me if you need any further information.

it totally depends on the added features that you are gonna install, plus the installer should inform you of how much space its gonna consume before it does, but a normal installation shouldnt take more than 600MB. Best of luck
