Alot depends on what type of equipment you have. The easiest way is to import the video file using a DVD ripping program. Out of the box, the easiest is to import the clip using something like Windows Movie Maker with the DVD player connected to a DV camera via a Firewire/1396 port.

If you're looking for ease, but a good DVD Ripper.

You have to "rip" your DVD to your PC using a DVD ripping tool. There are many dvd rippers and you can always a find a shareware/freeware in www.download.com.

Keep in mind that YouTube's limit for upload is 100MB. So you have to also set that limit of 100 MB when ripping. So say for example you have a 3GB clip in your DVD, then that would also mean that you have to create 30 smaller clips of video on your PC at just about 100 MB in size.

You can rip it to any popular video formats like avi, mpg, etc., as long as YouTube supports that format. Once you have the ripped clips on your PC, then you can just upload it in YT and that will be quite easy.

Once you’ve finished editing your video, made sure it's less than 10 minutes, smaller than 100MB, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

Click "Upload Videos" in the upper-right-hand corner of any YouTube page.
Enter as much information about your video as possible, including Title, Description, Tags, and Category. The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video!
Click the "Go upload a file" button.
In the next window, click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file. Select the file you want to upload.
Determine if you want your video set to Public or Private.
Click the "Upload Video" button.
