It takes such a long time for my computer to start that I've been using standby; but sometimes when I turn my monitor on, I find that my computer has restarted by itself, with my desktop page on. I have no way of knowing how long it has been on.

i put in a blank cd and tried to open it
it says "please insert a disk into drive E:"

Every time I try to open any folders in Windows the screen freezes, the bottom bar disappears for a few seconds, then comes back. But the folder never opens. This has been happening ever since I allowed microsoft to give me Windows Updates. What is going on?????? How can I fix this?

I am running 2 comps on wireless hub! My problem is when i'm on my laptop and my daughter logs on her comp it signs me out!

I need to delete something from my favourites list, but everytime I click on it to delete it the computer jams up! That's the reason I want to delete it...'cos if I accidentally hovver over it, computer jams. Is there any other way of deleting this from my favourites?

i was wondering why on aol 9.0 when i search member directory it only shows me aim pages? and not that many matches? i had aol in the past and it showed me aol memebers, not aim pages. am i doing something wrong?

After about a hour or two of Youtube-watching or websurfing, i get a blue screen thats says beginning dup of physical memory

at 1st i thought it was the games i was playin so i lowered virtual memory and uninstalled some stuff but it keeps ocurring

is it b/c the videos i stream on the web
and how to i lower internet cache - if that helps the problem

If a folder is on your computer say created by the system or programs you installed but it is empty does it mean the file is unneeded and deletable? Also if you happen to find lots of empty folders and delete them how will they affect the performace of my computer? Will it make it faster assuming all the files are safe to delete.

I have a micron thats about 4 years old. It is really fast but it crashes a lot. It will work fine until I open something that uses a lot of graphics (sim city 4, command and conquer generals) and some programs won't even open like ceasar 4 and the new doom for pc, not to mention WOW which I am paying for and can't even play because of this crappy computer... I think it is the video card it's a geforce 4 mx420 or is it just a typical micron? would getting a new video card help?

It seems that my computer underwent some repairs and most of the files were gone. Although the internet is working, I cannot read and/or send out emails. In addition, the sound and video functions disappeared. When I'm just looking at a webpage and reading something, my computer tower clicks off and the screen goes blank. The green light stays on, however, and I have to hold the button in to shut it off. I know that it's not the screensaver because I get the computer to display the screen again once it clicks off. Why does it do this and how can I stop it?

A humming noise is coming through my pc speakers. It just started doing this 3 or 4 days ago. I have not moved anything. Everything is in the same place as it has been for nearly 2 yrs. now. Ok my brother was playing a game when the computer froze and he turned it off with the power button on the computer. Now when I turn on the computer I get to a message telling me there was a problem and asking me how I want to turn on the computer. It gives me these options:

Safe Mode
Last Settings Used
Start Windows Normally

For each option I pick it takes me to the Windows XP loading screen but then it restarts and takes me back to the message with the options. What should I do? Please help me...
