On my PC this company Spy Soldier has loaded adware onto my computer, it keeps coming up as a fake alert "You have adware, upgrade to Spy Sweeper today" and I can't locate it, or get rid of it. Does anybody know how I can find out where it is and delete it? I have Spy Sweeper, but it's not catching it. Help please.

It is under delete browsing history section which is in internet properties in the control panel. It contains downloaded program files that are installed and about a thousand various files. When I look on dependency the size says damaged.Even though my computer is fast, wouldn't removing these help clean up my computer?I do have system restore. So if I screw something up I imagine I could restore it to an earlier date.Or should I just stick to the defragmenter and free up space options under performance and maintenance.I just want to be sure before I do any of this.

Why does it do this and how can i stop it? I connect to the internet via AOL 9.0. I have AOL broadband at a standard 100.0 Mbps speed. Sometimes, it doesn't restart itself for a couple of hours, sometimes i get 10-15minutes max before it restarts.

1. Ive got windows XP and when my computer starts up and brings up the login screen it just freezes and you cant click on anything at all not even the option to turn off your computer.

2. When i finally login it takes a ton of time to log me in and load my settings and desktop icons.

3. Sometimes when i log in and am using the computer the screen just turns off and the computer restarts, im unable to turn the monitor back on and the HDD light comes on and stays on constantly.

If it is a virus how can i combat and destroy it.

Any ideas people?

Thanks
