Look for a program called DVD Decrypter. It allows you to save the DVD on your hard disk - and can be watched from there with a player like PowerDVD.

you need a dvd rom or dvdrw+- or dvd ram drive in your computer first any of these will do then do a simple copy and paste to your harddrive if you are using windows xp go to "start" then typr into "run" "dvdupgrd" if windows finds a decoder you can play dvd formats if not dowload limewire free from
http://www.download.com/
then when limewire is installed search for windows media player dvd decoders and encoders when you have downloaded a few install one and try the "dvdupgrd" again if it finds one, open windows media player and hold "Ctrl" on the keyboard and press "O" this will open a dialogue box, find the file enter the directory name e.g. c:/my documents /my video /

If you can download the movie then you can save it on your hard drive provided it is down-loadable and free... save it just as you would save an audio file ---save as target ..
You will be able to play it either on Window Media player , real Player, winamp or power DVD ...depending which one you have installed and configured to play that type of files.

You can't just copy a DVD to the drive, it is encrypted and it copyright-protected. You will have to de-css the disc first before copying it to your hard drive.
There are all sorts of resources out there explaining how to do it.
