can someone actually tell me what that windows xp error is and how to fix it from happening again because it reboots my computer while im in the middle of stuff and it doesnt save it

recently my avg anti-virus detect a virus it a iexplore.dat result is trojan horse psw.generic2.RQY then i try to delete it when i change to safe mode i ran a virus scan and it say u mus restart to heal it but after i restart nothing happen can pls anyonr tell me wat to do plzzzzz

what can be done to stop insane amounts of spam at my outlook express email?
with yahoo mail theres the wanderful bulk folder. i know how to erase individual email in OE but how do i delete alot at once? we are talking hundreds of spams per day.

Before,my pc used to check drive C for errors automatically upon start up after it was not properly switch off, (i.e. power failure, power plug was detached from outlet,etc.) Now, it,s not happening anymore. Is there something wrong w/ my pc or I just turned off a setting unintentionally? My pc is Windows Xp Professional

I have Xp pro. My RAM is taking up much more time to load. I have also noticed significant change in speed from last 4 weeks. Is there a virus which is resident in RAM or is there any solution to make my PC work much fast manually other than varios tweak up programs?

i don't know how to ammend my first question. the celeron d is a 335 model it runs at 2.8 ghz, my motherboard is upgradable to 2gigabytes, with 2 dimm slots at 1 gig per slot, my video card is a radeon ati 256 mb directx9 shader 3.0 x1300. the 1300 throwing me off its not in the charts as far as battlefield 2142 goes which is what i am playing. my concern is i have 512mb of memory, which i know can barely run windows xp, but my concern at a buck sixty a gig, i need ddr ram, should i buy an amd set, and ddr-2 memory, or spend the money on ddr and hope for the best. my goal is to play battlefield 2142 smoothly. i don't want to waste my money, i will spend 200 on memory if i am satsified with play on my processor, or i will spend 400 to build a new system for the same, but i don't want to just throw money away unecessarily.

I remember running a virus scan a few months ago that said 100,000 or so files scanned. Now it is saying that it has scanned 300,000 or so files. Why is this?

I have some downloaded pictures in my PC, am wondering how to transfer them to a disc, to prevent losing them if my PC crashes. I have the following on my "Tower"...It's equipped with a CD Writer/DVD-ROM combo. Now, WHAT kind of disc do I insert to save pictures on? Can you burn pictures on a CD? Or do I have to use a "DVR" disc? Please help, I don't know much about computers, and have some family pics I want to save, in case my PC goes haywire....What is the difference between a CD, A DVR, And A DVD disc? Which one is right for "burning" pictures from my computer's "picture" file? Thanks...
