Your computer could be set on American language, try changing to the language selection English UK on language settings.

Is your keyboard new or did this problem suddenly happen with your old keyboard?

If it is new:

Did you install a driver for the wrong keyboard? Typically pressing <2> gives your the '@' sign. is that what is shown on your keyboard? If not then you need to download a driver for your new keyboard.

If it is old:

Try re-starting your PC. =) It works.... sometimes.

question for you, is your at key located left center of your return button? that is with going u[ to down, and there is five rows of keys it is the third row and just left of the return, or enter key. if this is the case, than your keyboard is acting exactly as mine would, if my shift button was depressed. number three for me with shift is #, and the key mentioned before would leave me ". so i am an american, maybe some driver is wrong.

I can't get the pound sign either, Think it might be set for US or something but don't know how to change it. Can't find anything in control panel.

Pry off the 2 and the 3 and clean the crud outta your keys. Try vaccuuming it. Or use a Q-tip. (I'd use rubbing alcohol-I don't know how right that is......just a little.....unplug it first, though.)
