Is Yahoo telling you that your login time has expired, or is it actually Windows telling you that.
For Yahoo, if someone else logs in with your account from another machine, I believe that would also cause your current session to expire.
For Windows, depending on your location, if you are in an office environment or at a public computer, etc, it's possible for an administrator to set specific times that a user account is allowed to login to the computer/network...
I guess I'd need more clarification of the error. Is it saying your "...session has expired..." or your "...login time has expired..."?

You have either been inactive for too long on Yahoo (not going to other Yahoo sites, but staying on that one page, which causes the time to expire), or Yahoo has logged you off (after a while of being on) to prevent random people from using your computer in case you left. To fix this, if you're using this on a home computer (not local computer where any random stranger can use it), the next time you log in, check the "remember me next time" box.

This happens because Yahoo! uses this as a safeguard to protect users. It also may be because you left your computer sitting for too long without you using it.
Opening another browser window and logging in to a second Yahoo! Mail account automatically signs you out of the first. When you return to the first account, clicking any link gives you the "your login session has expired" message.
Do you also get the prompts asking you to type in your password to verify?
That's happened to me too. The information on this link went into more detail. And it helped. Because I find that getting those pop ups that prompt you for your password to be quite annoying.

It means that you are logged out of Yahoo! mail and perhaps even other services on Yahoo!
This is a new feature that is designed to ensure that people who use public computers say like in a cyber cafe need not bother about what would happen when they forget to log off.
Many people leave their Yahoo! mail on a public computer without logging off in a hurry because they charge you by the hour and not for the amount of usage. this results in another person being able to read the mail of the previous person who used yahoo on the same computer in the cyber cafe.
So if you are using a home computer, I would suggest you to select "Keep me signed in for 2 weeks" when you enter the yahoo! e-mail id and password.
Also if you get logged off when reading your mails, the system would tell you that you have to re-login. Just click on the re-login to login back onto yahoo mail and continue with your work. You may have to enter your username and password again.
If you are using a public computer, I would suggest you to log off for your own safety.
Make sure you keep your e-mails safe and personal from intruding eyes.
I hope this helps you. Bye.

What happens is your account has a timer on it when you are viewing an email or a page for a long period of time with out clicking on something your account will log you out. It is a safety feature so your account doesn't stay signed on when you leave it open for a long period of time. Think of it like a timer you sign on if you are not actively viewing anything in your account it will sign you off. Hope that helps AC

it generally means that u have been using ur mailbox for more than 24 hours or this also happens when u try to open more than one yahoo mail box at same time.
one more cause for this problem is related with cookies if the cookies are not allowed to be downloaded to ur computer (by the fire wall or internet settings) this happens.
