You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

These are cleanup tools. Ad-aware cleans files, and SpyBot cleans the registry

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Are you sure you have enough free space? Also the pagefile could be corrupt - in system tab disable it, delete the existing pagefile (you need to make sure that operating/system files are not hidden), reboot reenable it (this creates a new pagefile) - set it to let windows manage it. Also, remove any unused apps; take anything you see in programs > startup folder out of it if you don't need it starting everytime you turn on the system AND of course, don't forget to run spybot, adaware, and an up to date antivirus to dump all of the gargage you can't see. Don't forget to run the disk cleanup and then defrag.

Goto Start run and enter - msconfig - goto startup and uncheck the boxes of utilities you dont want loading into your memory during boot.
Sounds like your startup utilities are overtaking your memory during boot.
when you complete this do a defrag on the harddrive.
And also do as the previous poster recommended get Adaware do a scan and then download AVG free from Grisoft and run that too.
