nothing is being moved or changed, shouldn't it stay on stand by until i touch something, is there a way i can fix this?

I have encrypted some files on an external Hard Drive while I was logged on as a user. Sometime later, I have deleted that user and created others. Now, I cannot access the files even though I tried creating the same user and password. I still don't have access to the files. Is there any way around it? I can see the certificate thumbprint but how to use it to resolve the access problem?
Someone should be able to help here!

Have anyone received this money in real. They have asked me to pay them pounds1500/ as transfer fees but not to the bank, to a person (Rose Dixon) claiming to be reprasantative of Alliance & Leicester Bank. And requests the payment be done through Western Union,. So before I go ahead pls can anyone give me some advice.....

i have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop on a wireless internet connection. i always have a excellent connection, but i still manage to get ping in the 60s-80s when im playing online computer games, whereas my friends are ranging from 10-20. Is there anyway to lower my ping. it makes it hard to game beause we like to play army games ((such as america's army and medal of honor)), and whenever i go to shoot, my screen lags like crazy and im killed before i can even shoot.

delete programs to free up space?
anything i can buy and install on my laptop?

any suggestions are much appreciated

I was looking in my Programs tab and saw a program called xVid and the info for it said something about, "building on my computer" and codec. Then I went to another user on my PC/ Program files/ Lame mp3 codec. I don't know what that is either or how it got there or what it does. Help!

A friend's computer worked last night they were online & everything. Today they wnet to start it & when opened normally it shows the windows logo & then goes to a black screen with a slash in the right upper hand corner. When tried Safe mode it gets to the opening screen of YOU ARE IN SAFE MODE & then it says error. - Internet explorer-needs to close now. Then it freezes on a really weird picture. Does anyone know what to do or why its happening? Thanks in advance for any answers..

I've run two different virus scanners and the windows folder still comes up when I sign on to my account. I am not sure what to do once I am in the system configuration menu looking at the processes there. For a PC running on windows XP, what should I be seeing? I think at least one startup item is a data miner, but that wouldn't cause the windows folder to open at startup, would it? It's "spdadmin" and it also has a command that shows up as a system32 file with the same title that has something about "hide" in the file name. There is also something with nothing in the startup item area and c:\windows\\\\\\\\\ in the command area. What are these? Could they be what's causing my PC to go bonkers? Somebody help; I'm about at my wit's end with this!

When I open a folder everything is set out as an icon, I know that if I go to view and select list, then it changes for that folder. Is there any way I can make this the "default" for all the folders, it is tedious having to do it each time I open something new.

Whenever I open Control Alt Delete, I get a list of the processes running.

In this window there are no buttons to close minimizie or restore. The only way to close is by alt f4. Also, I am unable to change tabs. The tabs don't appear.

My question is how do i get it back to normal.

I have a file on a server named out.txt, and to put it simply I need a way to send the data in the file to an email when the data changes.

Really I just need a way to keep updated on a file without actually visiting it, another solution would be to have a text field which drew its text from the out.txt so the data would be on a webpage.

I have no clue how to do this its the last this I need to do to finish a site that has taken a while to build, Any help would be aprreitiated.

Is there a way to do this and if so please let me know. There is someone who will not leave me alone and thinks it is quite comical to follow me around saying rude things about me and my family. Normally this wouldn't bother me but I start to get angry when someone who doesn't even know me says something about my child. ( what a cheap shot right?? ) anyways. if anyone has an idea on how to get rid of this pest please let me know. Thanks

I have reported her also that is what she wants she wants people to report her but she isn't doing this to anyone else but me and it is starting to get quite annoying. What other measures can I take to get this "child" to leave me alone.

i typed in cmd into Run. i typed in ipconfig/release and this error message comes up:

The operation failed as no adapter is in a state permissable for this operation.

What gives?

under the tcp/ip properties, dchp is enabled. the automatic ip address thing is enabled as is the dns address thing.

when i doubleclicked on my connection, i went to the support tab and it says i was using an automatic private address...shouldnt this say dchp address?

i do have dsl and my network card is enabled.

Hi there, my system is as follows P2 3.2 Gz, (64bit) 1 Gb DDR ram,200Gb hd. XP Pro on a foxcon board.I now only have about £60/£70 available for a graphics card, (upgrade from Radeon 7000) but having done some research,i am now totally confused!!
I mostly play rpg's, but would like to have a crack at some of the more recent first person shooters. Obviously, i Know that for my budget there's going to have to be compromise,but at the moment i just dont know where to start. I have considered the 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 8x (£60 ish)
Any thoughts? all input will be gratefully received,

i'm trying to watch the panic at the disc video on windows media player 10. it only plays the music and not the video. it says that there is an error. its something about a codec. what is it? whats wrong? and if i need to where can i find one?
